I think the lesson learned from this incident is for HK government and all HK people to think what we are going to do for a more serious environmental disaster such as a major oil spill from an oil tanker.
HK government may be happy to see that this crisis now resolves earlier crisis of “National Education” that in turn resolved the crisis of “Unauthorized Construction”.
In a visit to HK a couple years ago I was appalled to learn that the electric supply for the HK Island relies SOLELY on Hong Kong Electric Co.. That is no power cable connection to Kowloon grid. Therefore there is no back-up. When HK Electric plants are down, HK Island is down. This is of course an unacceptable situation for a “world city”. Yet nobody seems to care to raise the issue. Who dares to ruffle feathers of the powerful Hong Kong Electric Company?
Friends of Lammar Island, Lammar Corner will join force with Green Power to carry out clean ups on the 11／8, 12／8, 18/8 and 19／8. The beach clean ups will be carried out along Shek Pai Wan and Tung O beach. There will be free ferry shuttles, details to be announced.
The cleaning shifts are as follow:
A. 10:00 - 12:00 B. 12:00 - 14:00 C. 14:00 - 16:00

刪除不過反應慢，有事不是第一時間處理而是密冚，是無能政府的慣技。
特區政府不用你教，自動向大國看齊了。
有排執。政府可有更有效方法解決？市民執到幾多去回收站以毎磅若干價回收,費用由中石化負擔。

「救火隊」疲於奔命，市民不會這麼容易忘記，廉署開了file也會追究下去。
刪除漁護署助理署長蘇炳民表示，這些膠粒無毒，而且受污染機會微，即使吃下亦對人體沒影響，呼籲市民毋須過份擔心。

其實電力聯網是「一家便宜二家著」，必要時互相救命，應該做的呀。
刪除我好感動-市民無聲無色的自發行動。當中響應的有不小「宅男宅女」（高登有人發起,報名人數竟有廿幾三十版!）真的時代變了,人也成長了!

刪除講真，香港人5分鐘熱度，今次攪到咁大件事係因為主角係中石化，香港人雖然係中國不可分割的一部份，但我們其實真的很想跟中國割席，所以，今次大家咁熱心係有目的，大家又想想，香港其實滿街都係垃圾又邊個會去理會? 有無人會去自動自覺清理? 有好多港人食完野既包裝都隨地掉，公園內係垃圾，明明有垃圾桶都唔掉係掉落街，其餘虐待貓狗小動物不計其數，今次呢件事太虛情假意了。

刪除「好多」沒公德的人，和任何我們見到行善的人，不能一概而論當是同一班人。

回覆刪除堆填後讓它分解，是集中一處的污染。
刪除就算循環再用，也是暫緩而已。
最初製造的過程中，已經產生相當的污染。
I see. So if the beads are laying around the beaches, they pollute just like any other garbage? But of course this time it's A LOT more!
