Meagher's case was in Melbourne. You might be confused by the street name of her disappearance: Sydney Road in the suburb of Brunswick. Note there's no drama in the pronunciation of Brunswick, though! Don't say "Brunsick". ^^

回覆刪除字音除了依據拼寫規律，還受語言發展過程的影響。比如漢字讀音大多與形聲及會意靠譜，亦有特例致容易錯讀的情況。
現今中華大族錯讀，錯解，錯用愈加嚴重。試以依法治國四字作例，執政者實際是將首二字的左旁不顧以為用。近事證之，公安抓人不交待，此屬慣常作法而已。
讀音和字義都會改變的，多人錯，錯錯下就會成為正。

刪除有些(我不敢說多數)美國音，像廣東話，是保留了比較古的讀音。

真的記錯是Sydney，多謝提醒。
刪除Brunswick St.也是布里斯本一個火車站，亦即唐人街所在地。中譯是「布蘭斯威克街」，無錯。
